Plan for the Sacred Conversation

You’re invited to join the Sacred Conversation:
Is God talking to us? Are we listening?

We are in the midst of a deep shift in human history and the life of the church that demands prayerful informed reflection by all followers of Jesus Christ. The session of the congregation adopted a proposal in November 2007 for a congregational sacred conversation as a spiritual discipline during Lent.

The purposes of this sacred conversation are:

To seek God’s direction and call for the church
To deepen our level of conversation about God and the church
To hear from some key Christian thinkers of the day
To seek some answers to important questions i.e. Why church? What makes a church a church? What does it mean to be Christian in the 21st century? What is God calling us as the church to be and do?

A few suggestions from the Book of Order:

W-3.5500: Services for Evangelism
W-3.5400: Services for Wholeness
W-3.4000: Service of DAILY prayer

***Small groups from groups on addiction to groups on studying the book of Revelation to groups on studying various extra-biblical books. I think in order to bring more people in to our church we need to have these so we can disciple people to becoming Christians to helping people mature in Christ.

I am coming back in September to let you all know.
